If you have completed college level courses previously or have taken the ACT/SAT/MCA/ACCUPLACER test(s) these scores could be used to provide you placement.

A waiver may not fulfill all prerequisite requirements. Only official college transcripts submitted to the Records office can transfer college credit and meet all prerequisites.

DETAILS: Students are eligible for three possible test waivers: Reading, English, and Math.

  1. For a Reading waiver, your transcript must show a grade of C- or higher, and completion of six college-level credits with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. International credits are excluded. Coursework in Studio Art, Studio Music, Theatre Practicum, foreign language, American Sign Language, and activity-based courses that do not involve college-level reading are excluded.
  2. For an English waiver, the transcript must show completion of a college-level English composition course with a grade of C- or better.
  3. For a Math waiver, the transcript must show completion of a college level Algebra or higher course with a grade of C- or better.

INSTRUCTIONS: Upload  a copy of your ACT report. Please make sure that the document shows all of the sub scores, your full name, the test location and test date. Students are eligible for three possible test waivers: Reading, English, and Math. Eligible sub scores: Reading (21+); English (18+); Math 22+ (College Algebra); Math 26+ (Calculus).

Students are eligible for three possible test waivers: Reading, English and Math. Eligible sub scores: Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing 480+, or Math 530+ (College Algebra)/ Math 590+ (Calculus)

INSTRUCTIONS: Upload a copy of a score report if taken at a non-MN State institution. We cannot evaluate scores that are from the COMPASS test. Reading and English test scores are valid 3 years, Math scores are valid for 2 years.
