Criteria for the Jane Bassuk Art Supplies Fund
- Deadline to apply is January 26, 2024.
- Available to Studio Art or Graphic Design majors, as well as those who are taking 6 or more credits in Art classes.
- Students can re-apply for the $75 award each semester.
- Requires a statement of need essay.
- Have a minimum 2.0 GPA at the time of application
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester.
- Students must be in good academic standing, and not on probation, suspension, or warning with any NHCC office.
- Scholarship funds must be used to purchase NHCC bookstore art supplies exclusively.
Jan Bassuk taught Studio Arts classes at North Hennepin Community College for over 20 years. As a full-time faculty member, she reflects on her teaching at NHCC as a "dream come true". The Jane Bassuk Art Supplies Scholarship was created to help students in need defray the additional costs of art supplies.
